The things you will need which you need to bring yourself are: -Heavy pair of socks -Some nice warm waterproof snow pants (you should wear something comfortable underneath your snow pants like pajama pants or something like that) -A nice heavy waterproof jacket (it doesn't have to be waterproof but it would be best) You should wear some nice warm clothes underneath that jacket. My jacket has a liner in it so I just wear a t-shirt underneath which is warm enough for me. -Gloves are a must (preferably waterproof) -Goggles (if you don't have any, borrow some from a friend, if you can't then just bring sun glasses or something to cover your eyes) -A Neck Warmer Things you can rent are as follows: -HELMET (FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WEAR A HELMET, this is a must) -Snowboard (find out if you are regular or goofy, an easy way to do this is put on some slippery socks and slide of a slippery floor, slide like you were in a snowboard stance. Do whatever way feels the most comfortable to you, left foot forward is regular, right foot forward is goofy) Beware some people will tell you to have a friend push you from behind and whatever foot you place forward is the foot you want to put in the front of the board, this does not work. -Snowboard Boots (same size as your shoe size) -Bindings

Warm is good but water proof/ resistant is critical. If you are a beginner chances are you will spend a significant amount of time sitting in the snow. Keep that in mind. Borrow some snowpants from a friend.

Depends how much boarding u will do.. i board all day when i go nd i just wear snowboard pants, a thermal, nd a snowboarding sweater (not waterproof) nd i stay completely warm nd dry... nd if u wear too much ull get too hot.. like this guy below.. lol no need for all tht padding unless ur planning on falling off a cliff

When the temperature outside is 35F or higher, i like to wear an underarmor longsleeve shir, my waterproof snowboarding jacket, a thermal pair of pants, and waterproof snowboarding pants (and knee pads, butt pads, liner gloves and waterproof gloves, helmet, goggles, snowboarding socks) if its colder, i might wear a fleece or something instead of the underarmor but since ur just a beginner, you might need to dress warmer because you wont be as active just dont wear cotton as ur base layer because it absorbs sweat (you will sweat no mattter how cold it is) and it holds it in i strongly suggest pads and a helmet and maybe wrist guards (stilll dont fall on ur wrists) because u will fall hard a lot

Basic Gear: -Board -Boots -Bindings -Ski Socks -Base Layer (pants) -Base Layer (shirt) -Snow Pants -Long sleeve shirt over base layer -Jacket/ Heavy Sweatshirt depending on whether -Hat/ Helmet -Goggles -Gloves -Bandanna/ face mask (optional) i find that this setup works well, especially if you have layers on. remember, you can always take off a layer if you get hot, but you cant add a layer if you get cold in the middle of the day.

Here's a list of clothing and equipment to wear. I know you probably can't go buy everything, and that's alright, just do the best with what you got, and try and borrow stuff if you can. 1) long underwear (not cotton) 2) a waterproof, breathable jacket 3) possibly a fleece or wool jumper underneath your jacket, for added warmth 4) snow pants, waterproof 5) thick woolen or synthetic socks (1 pair. anymore and you run the risk of restricting circulation to your feet, which ultimately can cause frostbite) 6) a beanie, or even better for a beginner, a helmet. 7) warm, waterproof gloves (bring a spare pair to change into if they get too wet) 8) goggles or sunglasses (both protect your eyes, but goggles keep the wind out) 9) wrist guards. This is a commonly injured part for new boarders. 10) sunscreen. The sun reflects off of the snow and can scorch your face. 11) Impact shorts, or hip pads, or even borrow a friends hockey shorts if you don't mind looking bulky. (for under your pants) They don't look cool but will probably be appreciated for your first day. It's imperative that you don't wear cotton. Cotton dries very slowly, so once it is wet, it stays wet and keeps you cold, even your sweat doesn't evaporate quickly and can ultimately make you cold. sweatshirts and t-shirts make very poor insulators.
