After about 10 days you will be able to ride down most slopes. After that progression varies widely from person to person.

Ahh snowboarding thats the best. depending on how many hours u put in....about 2 days like from about when the skii place opens to when it closes. you wont the best that fast but you will be able to do blue squares for sure unless you dont work hard at it. for a beginner i recommend you dont start on a real mt for example utah i wudnt go there. but wisconsin or michigan might be good for you.
